This semester has found quite a few major shifts for me in Albuquerque. School was a breeze, it ended just this week, and I expect grades soon. I began hanging out semi-religiously at a local coffee house with great, late hours. In the evenings when my boyfriend Josh was at work, I would slip downtown to this place to read and listen to lots of great drama. Despite Josh's opinion to the contrary, I've made quite a few really down-to-earth, excellent friends. The coffee house recently closed, but luckily the crowd has migrated and now the late night scene circles around a couple of houses downtown. Just about a month ago, some serious internal and external strains on my relationship with Joshua caused us to go our separate ways. We still live in the same apartment, as our lease will not be up for another month or so. In the meantime, I've already settled on a new place with a good friend of mine from school and the scene, Bethany. The house is beautiful, white wood and a huge sunroom that spans the front. It is walking distance to the University - quite a change from driving a half an hour each way. I also got a new job. I sell shoes. I like it a lot. Enough about that for now. I bought the laptop I am typing on for a hundred bucks. I haven't been reading like I should. My life is simple and good again and I've learned a lot about expectations... not much else, I suppose. Maybe I'll get dramatic and prosiatic soon. Probably not. Please leave me a note about this entry. |
